HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN by HOT r.s. is a HOT disco re-make

There were tons of disco re-makes. Some were schlock and some really hit it on the nail. I guess because so much material was released in such a short period of time it was hard to constantly come up with completely new songs.

HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN in .wav

A faceless band from Johannesburg, South Africa came up with a 14 minute+ disco remake masterpiece with their cover of The Animals single from 1964 The House of The Rising Sun.

Hot R.S. and this 1977 disco 12" went on to become one of the most collectible and hard to find releases of the entire disco era.

A classic post! To be honest I find it really hard to decide between this version, the Santa Esmeralda one and the Revelecion version, all have their own charm and all recorded in '77 if memory serves.

I remember it was ages before the penny dropped that Hot R.S. was an acronym of the song title!

Another Hot R.S. cover I love is their version of Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida mixed with a version of Frankie Vaughan's 1957 hit 'Garden Of Eden' which appeared on their 1978 album 'Forbidden Fruit'..a total disco epic!

The quality on this blog just never seems to drop!

Actually I've heard of that but don't have it if you wouldn't mind passing it on to me.

Thanks for the kudos.

It is the least I can do after you have shared all this great music!
