Stay with me Tonight

Wow this quarantine situation has definitely reflected a great increase in traffic to my blog.  Though i may be partly responsible since I've been posting so excessively these past few days.

Today's offering is a German record.  A blatant attempt by ZYX to cash in on the Italo Disco trend while certainly giving it a Euro Dance taste too.  Stay with me Tonight even starts out with an introduction in Italian and rap so we could say they were throwing in everything but the kitchen sink with this one.
What can I say about it other then it's pure cheese, and you know that just means I love it!

Patty Ryan followed up Stay with me Tonight with the Europa dance single You're my Love, You're my Life both released 1986.   HER OTHER OFFICIAL WEBSITE

She has also occasionally collaborated with Modern Talking's Dieter Bohlen.  Some of her songs are actually based upon Modern Talking melodies.

Too Much HongKong Syndikat

This is just a bit off my typical theme.  But what can I say I just love it.  When it came out in 1986 I had just graduated from university and was pretending that I wanted to start my career in Rome.

I brought my photography portfolio with me.  But I don't think I showed it to anyone but my friends. All I wanted to do was go out clubbing and go to the beach.

Too Much

Too Much by Honkong Syndikat, a German Synth Pop band got a lot of play on the radio and every time it caught my ear.  The harmonies, the instrumentation and the simple message was pleasing to me.

The dance remix got a little play in clubs early in the night.  But I don't think of this as a song for dancing in clubs.

Too Much Hong Kong Syndikat

A fairly prolific German Synth Pop band Hong Kong Syndikat released four albums between 1982 and 1987.

Too Much was a huge hit in Europe in 1985 and sort of channels that jazzy pop sound that was made popular by Matt Bianco among other artists.

THERE'S MUSIC IN THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!

This is another example of Italo disco perfection in my book.  Super catchy chorus, fun loving music and that real mid 80's European sound.  It's a great example of how some of the best italo disco was not even made in Italy.
Hans Joachim Werner, Kalle Trapp, Klaus Stoltefuss, Lothar Thorwesten, Rolf Köhler are Solid Stranger and as you can see they are all German.
 MUSIC IN THE NIGHT
Music in the Night by Solid Strangers was released in 1985.  It was the second of four twelve inch by the band.  ZYX records was one of the most prolific italo disco labels in the 80's.  They did a lot to promote the sound and distribute it throughout the world.  Italo Disco owes a lot of respect to this label.
