Master of None Season 2

Here at Disco Vinyl we don't really talk about t.v. but sometimes you've just got to give credit when credit's due.

The new season of Master of None is not only set in Italy but the second episode is jam-packed with Italo Disco.

Aziz Ansari is incredibly likeable and his enthusiasm for my country makes me feel like 20 years ago I made the right move when I said bye bye to America and re-located to Italy.

Dolce Vita peaked at #10 on the Italian pop charts in 1983.  It is one of the most beloved pop-italo disco songs of the genre.

Ryan Paris Dolce Vita

When Dolce Vita was a hit on the radio in 1983 I remember hearing that Ryan Paris was from Boston.  But fact of the matter is he was born on March 12, 1953 in Rome.  Dolce Vita has to be one of the most commercially successful releases of the italo disco era.  He is certainly one of the few who were able to break into the U.K.'s Top 5 on the singles chart.

I'd rather jack then Fleetwood Mac Reynolds Girls

How freakin' camp is this?  Stock, Aitken and Waterman really stepped it up a notch with this one.  A sister act The Reynolds Girls took it all the way up to #8 in 1989.  The beat is like drilling something into your mind you hear it twice and you can hear it over and over in your mind for the rest of your life!  And those lyrics, how audacious, how over the top, how naughty.  What a scream.  LISTEN TO I'D RATHER JACK HERE

Apparently it was a tongue in cheek against the critics who didn't consider S,A and W talented and completely ignored them at the Brit Awards year after year.  They got a lot of criticism and many considered this record to be amazingly naff but come on they were only 18 and 16 years old.
