The first 2 Cube singles Two heads are better than one and Prince of the Moment

Cube were composed of Paul Griffiths, Rudy Trevisi and Serse May.  They were based out of Italy but are clearly not Italians.  Not much info. on this fact.  But I can say that I love their sound.  It's definitely out of the new wave vein but also quite Italo Disco too.

They only had one full album release and that was in 1983 with Can Can in the Garden.

The second single Prince of the Moment was produced by Mauro Malavisi who is best known for his work with B.B. and Q. Band, Change, Revanche, Macho, Zinc and much more.

The sound reminds me a lot of another huge italo hit of the period State of the Nation by Industry.

I hope for some of you Cube are a band you didn't know and can appreciate and for others I hope they are just the right stroll down memory lane.

As usual I ask you to show your appreciation for disco vinyl by clicking on the ads.

LOVING IN THE SNOW is not by Modern Talking

I think I've had a soft spot for a falsetto since Love So Right by The Bee Gees was my favorite song all those moons ago when I wasn't even a teenager yet.

The German band Modern Talking had a long string of Euro hits in the 80's featuring falsetto vocals so naturally this sound alike by Ocean Wings is sweet to me.  It's sweet to the collector's too as you're not going to find a copy for less then $200.00. GRAB IT

Other aliases for Ocean Wings include G. G. Near , One System and Superbowl.

OVER AND OVER ATRIUM ITALO DISCO JOY FROM 1987

1987 italo disco track Over and Over by Atrium is cheerful and upbeat.  The happy side of italo disco that brings back great memories for so many.  Time Records was one of the major imprints of the sound in the eighties.  1987 was definitely a winding down year for Italo as less and less releases came out by then and as house music was the hot sound on dance floors around the world by then.

BOTH SIDES OF THE MAXI SINGLE

I'm going to keep on keepin' on with my italo disco slant.  There are already so many other blogs which spotlight disco or house I feel that this genre deserves to be remembered.  Furthermore it brings me a lot of personal pleasure.  I spent a lot of time in Europe in the 80's before moving her permanently in 1998 so let a middle aged reminisce O.K.

Captain Terra X (24 More Hours) by Tea Ês

Particularly long for 1985 (almost ten minutes) but it's delicious straight through.

This is just the kind of italo disco we scream over here in Disco Vinyl.   The only release by

Tea Ês.  It came out in 1985 on the Germany label on Jupiter Records.

The video here features the German version.
