It may be the end of summer but for Sabrina it will always be Summertime Love

Italian showgirl Sabrina Salerno had a huge hit all over Europe with her Single Boys (Summertime Love). The video is iconic and it was one of the last of the massive Italo Disco hits.

Boys even made it to #3 on the U.K. pop charts and was more succesful than her third single in which she worked with Stock, Aitken & Waterman.

In honor of finally getting over 1,000,000 clicks, 1983's Italian Hit Parade

Definitely not a typical post for me. This is a Bulgarian pressing of some of the biggest hits from 1983. Including the winning song from the festival of San Remo.

It was a fantastic year for pop in Italy. The Nada record brings back a ton of memories!

And the Synth Pop masterpiece Vacanze Romane by Matia Bazar may very well be the best Italian single ever, it's pure perfection.

Belgian Synth Wonders Telex

Telex were a Belgian band formed in 1978. They even participated in EuroVision one year.

Their single Moscow Discow was a seminal synth disco hit. It was played in all the best clubs like The Paradise Garage and Studio 54.

Seymour Stein ever the innovator picked it up For Sire records and that for sure was a big break for Telex. A few other cuts managed to get some attention but none as much as Moscow Discow.

A clip of Heather Parisi the Italian American showgirl who was all over Italian t.v. in the late 70's and 80's and even had a few of her own hits has gone viral. She's dancing to the track and it really shows how the track sounds great even now over 40 years later. Look for the link in the message section below.

Dedicated to KOTO an essential Italo Disco artist if there ever was one

Koto has left the stage. So I'm going to spoil you with more Koto then you ever thought existed.

Koto was quite the special Italo Disco artist. In fact his crossover appeal was such that Japanese War Game was even a favorite at the legendary Paradise Garage.

Koto was very experimental and prolific. He wasn't afraid to dip his hands into many pots. As you can see he even did plenty of covers.

One thing I do know is that I appreciated him and I'll bet you did too!

As per usual my download links are going to be in the messages section below. I no longer know how to keep my links live in my posts directly.
