One of the oddest jumps onto the disco bandwagon was The Osmonds in 1979. It was produced by Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees but still managed to flop. It didn't even enter the disco charts.
It was in any case a solid release. It remains very popular with the collectors and still fetches a pretty penny on Ebay and Discogs. I,I,I, want to download this osmonds disco record

Both are great songs. I've seen this go for upwards of $600 CAD for this 12" single.
Hello Michael
I just discovered your blog and it is the best i've seen in a long time!
Deep juicy info on the artists. labels and tons of high quality soundclips! Everything a fan needs.
I was only 8 in 1983 (that seminal italo year as you mention over and over again:) so way too young to enter clubs but it was only when listening constantly to CBS webradio (around 2006) that i got into italo and disco. Already a longtime house music lover by then the transition went quite smoothly :)
Keep up the excellent work and I'm looking forward to your next posts.
Matt.
I was actually 19. I think most clubs let people in at the age of 18 back in the day. But in any case I spent that year in Rome where they don't have minimum ages for entering into clubs. Please click on the ads I'd appreciate it. Glad you like the blog. Join the networked blogs feature on the side and you'll get notifications when I post.
I miss CBS radio.
